Paul Wight, who previously competed as Big Show in WWE, made his first AEW appearance on yesterday's episode of Dynamite.

During his first AEW promo, Wight announced that the company has signed "a Hall of Fame worthy talent" who will debut at this Sunday's Revolution pay-per-view.

On the AEW Unrestricted podcast (h/t Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co), AEW President and CEO Tony Khan referred to the new signing as a "he". Khan also described the talent "a major, huge, huge star in the world of wrestling."

Fans are now speculating as to who this "Hall of Fame worthy talent" and "huge star" could be. Well, we can already rule out a few names.

When a fan on Twitter asked if he was the new AEW signing, future WWE Hall of Fame inductee Batista emphasized that he's retired from professional wrestling.

CM Punk, who left the WWE seven years ago, obviously fits the description of a "huge star." But during a Twitter Q&A segment, the former WWE Champion was quick to dismiss the speculation:

Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com also reported that Christian - who made his in-ring return at the Royal Rumble - is still under contract with the WWE. So we can rule him out as well.

Hall of Famer Goldberg previously stated that his WWE contract runs through 2023, and it consists of two matches a year, so it obviously can't be him.

So, who are some possible candidates? Davis pointed to Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar as possible candidates, noting that the former wasn't pleased with his final WWE match. Lesnar currently isn't under contract with WWE, and his last match happened a year ago at WrestleMania.

The Undertaker and John Cena are also major names in the wrestling world, but it's practically impossible to envision them leaving the WWE for the rival promotion. It's also safe to rule them out.

We Now Play The Waiting Game

AEW has already brought in a plethora of former marquee WWE talents, and we can't wait to see who their next big signing is. AEW has us on our toes, waiting to see the special surprise. Sunday can't come here soon enough, but we can safely guess that the next signing will be a game-changer for AEW.
