Shane Helms has a match with Christopher Daniels coming up and apparently, it's a match that has been a long time in the making.

When you think of current wrestlers who have basically seen and done it all in the business yet they continue to shine, there are a few names that spring to mind. Chris Jericho, Goldust, those kinds of people. Someone who is all too often overlooked is Shane Helms, more commonly known as The Hurricane, the superhero character he portrayed while working for WWE.

Even though Helms' most recent work has been for Impact Wrestling and some upcoming Ring Of Honor shows, the veteran made a triumphant, one-night return to WWE during this year's Royal Rumble. He wasn't in the ring for long, but the reaction from the crowd when his music hit was an extremely loud one. It's time for him to focus on the future now though, and that future involves him making his ROH debut.

Helms will step into an ROH ring for the first time this Friday and compete in a six-man tag match. It's the match he is booked to compete in on Saturday that really has his mouth watering though. Helms will team with Delirious to take on the tandem of Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels, the latter of which he has a long history with despite the fact they have never had a match.

"There was a big website when I was doing the indies back in the day and they had me and Christopher Daniels as number one and two independent wrestlers in America, so I wanted to meet him," Helms exclusively told The Sportster. Even though they met then, and again in WCW, they never got around to having a mach. "There’s no specific reason why we never wrestled, but we were in different companies. Timing is everything I guess."

It may be a tag team match, but Helms and Daniels in the ring together is a match that has been nineteen years in the making. Two men who have traveled the world on their own separate paths and those paths are about to finally cross. Helms will make his ROH debut at State Of The Art in San Antonio, Texas this Friday, and on Saturday he will head to Dallas for that long-awaited tag team match with Daniels.
