Shane McMahon and The Miz may only be a week into their reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions, but don't expect this dream pair to stay together for long.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the plan is for The Miz and Shane O'Mac to square off at WrestleMania 35 in two months, so we can expect the tag team to disband in very short time.

Over the past month and a half or so, The Miz worked extensively in trying to recruit the SmackDown Live general manager to join his side. McMahon finally complied, and the duo defeated The Bar at last week's Royal Rumble pay-per-view to capture the SmackDown tag team titles.

A buildup towards a McMahon-Miz WrestleMania match began at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Nov. 2. The Miz suffered a storyline leg injury during the World Cup tournament, and McMahon stepped in to replace him. He would go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler in the finals, thus being crown the World Cup champion, and teasing a future feud with The Miz.

When McMahon won the World Cup, it seemed as though WWE was preparing to turn the long-time babyface into a heel. In the meantime, The Miz has transitioned towards a babyface, despite spending the bulk of his career as a heel.

Thus, it'll be interesting to see which of the two men winds up turning heel ahead of their WrestleMania 35 bout. Will they make Miz go bad guy again, or will they retain his babyface role and have McMahon turn to the evil side? This will be worth following closely in the coming weeks.

What This Means

It was quite evident for a while that McMahon and The Miz were going to feud eventually. The former hasn't been afraid of putting over other talents, and he has the chance to spark The Miz's potential main event run even more when they meet on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
