Shawn Michaels came out of retirement to wrestle at Crown Jewel, and having appeared on WWE programming this past week, some are wondering if we'll see him wrestle at SummerSlam.

But according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), Michaels will not be wrestling at the Aug. 11 SummerSlam pay-per-view in Toronto. The show is only two weeks away now, and the 54-year-old Michaels would have to spend immense time training and preparing himself for an in-ring return.

Michaels has shut down the possibility of wrestling time and time again, recently stating that he'll "leave it to the younger generation," and that he's "good with what has been done."

After eight and a half years in retirement, Michaels was talked into coming back at Crown Jewel, where he teamed up with Triple H to reform D-Generation X. The legendary duo defeated Kane and The Undertaker (the Brothers of Destruction) in a tag team match, as Michaels avenged his loss to The Deadman at WrestleMania XXVI.

Interestingly, Michaels explained that he didn't think of the match at Crown Jewel as a true return to the ring. Rather, the Hall of Famer called it more " like a glorified house show live event."

Michaels appeared on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw as one of the many returning legends for the reunion special, along with his former D-Generation X allies. Michaels also appeared on the following day's episode of SmackDown Live, appearing as the special guest on Miz TV. Dolph Ziggler came out to confront the duo and hit Michaels with a superkick, before being chased away by The Miz.

What This Means

It's no surprise that Michaels is staying in retirement for good, but because he opted to compete at Crown Jewel, some continue to hold out hope that he'll return to the ring. But Michaels has pride and knows his time as a wrestler is up, so nobody should expect him to wrestle again. It's just not happening.
