Shawn Michaels Ends Retirement To Reform DX And Face Kane & Undertaker

Following their epic match at the Superstar Show-Down, Triple H and The Undertaker will square off yet again, this time in a tag team match that will see D-Generation X reform vs. The Brothers of Destruction.

Shawn Michaels is coming out of retirement once and for all, as he and The Game are set to take on the iconic Undertaker-Kane duo at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view next month in Saudi Arabia.

This will mark Michaels' first match since his career-ending loss to Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI, almost nine years ago. The Heartbreak Kid maintained for years that he was sticking true to retirement, even passing on the opportunity to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania in Orlando.

But after watching his close friend Triple H go up against the man who ended his career, Michaels is finally going back in the ring. And there's no better way to do it than to reform one of the most iconic factions ever, where his future Hall of Famer friend will take on another historic tag team.

D-Generation X was still together up until the point where 'Taker defeated Michaels to end his career. There have been a couple of reunions since - at WrestleMania 31 in San Francisco and in January's Raw 25th anniversary show. Their last official match was on the March 1, 2010, episode of Monday Night Raw, where DX lost a tag team titles rematch.

As WWE transitioned towards the Attitude Era, DX and the Brothers of Destruction took the company to new heights. Two decades after the rise of their respective dominance, we get one last epic match between Triple H-Michaels and Kane-Undertaker.

This isn't too surprising to those who caught WWE's Super Showdown in Austrailia however. The match between Undertaker and Triple H ended in controversial fashion when Michaels delivered a Sweet Chin Music to Undertaker, which lead into a Pedigree from Triple H and the eventual pinfall.

WWE fans always love some nostalgic feels, and they'll get it when these two tag teams face off in Saudi Arabia. Michaels - known as 'The Showstopper' - will easily steal the spotlight as we await his first match in almost nine years.
