WWE legend Shawn Michaels has declared that he won't ever advise an up-and-coming wrestler to take it easy or slow down.

The 52-year-old, who now works with the company's Performance Center in Florida, is privy to most of the new talent bound for NXT and other WWE programming. And he insists he'll never be the one to tell an emerging superstar to take his or her foot off the gas.

Speaking on the red carpet as the WWE hosted their inaugural For Your Emmy Consideration Awards earlier this month, ahead of the highly-anticipated Money in the Bank set to air this Sunday, HBK recalled being told he was "going too fast" by the veterans of yesteryear, when he himself was a rising talent in the business.

"It's fascinating because I can remember the old-timers telling me and [Bret Hart] we were going too fast," he said via ESPN.

"These guys are taking it to a whole new level. Of course, remembering what those guys said to me, I make sure I don't say it to these guys. I tell them don't worry about it. Getting them to understand and appreciate their ability, to not be scared of it, and to not let people rain on their parade.

"The thing is, you have to encourage them. I have to be honest, I think the athleticism and talent coming forward in the WWE and NXT is phenomenal. I think they're going to continue to take it another level, as they should. Every sport gets better, faster, and I don't think the WWE should be any different."

Michaels called curtains on his wrestling career back in 2010 after losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 and has somehow managed to stay retired for eight years. However, during a recent interview with Sky Sports, he hinted he could possibly wrestle again one last time, making an effort to note that it would have to be alongside his old partner Triple H.

During a subsequent chinwag, though, he seemed to backtrack, branding his prior statement "dumb stuff."

"I don't put a lot of thought into anything," Michaels claimed. "I say all sorts of dumb stuff."

"I don't think about wrestling really ever, but then I do wrestling interviews and somebody asks, and then, of course, they put a scenario together and you go, 'Oh, that would be fun. That would be neat. That's something I'd be interested in.'"

Whether or not Michaels returns to the ring is something left to be seen. But his impact could be felt throughout the WWE for years to come, given his role at their Performance Center, which should see an influx of new talent break through in the near future.
