WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels returned to the ring at Crown Jewel for his first match in over eight years, and that was most certainly the final bout of his legendary career.

It's easy for some to think Michaels might wrestle another match, since he already came out of retirement once. But in an interview with Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling (h/t Ringside News), the Heartbreak Kid emphasized that he is absolutely done wrestling. For good.

"No. I will leave it to the younger generation, they’re doing a fantastic job," Michaels said. "I’m good with what has been done and I’m all set."

Michaels lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI nine years ago, and per the match stipulation, HBK had to retire. In reality, Michaels was ready to call it a career as he wanted to spend more time with his family - going out on an extremely high note.

It seemed as though Michaels was intent on sticking to his retirement word. There were rumors that he would go up against A.J. Styles, but the Heartbreak Kid simply said he wished he was "was 10 to 15 years younger."

But Michaels wound up coming out of retirement to team up with Triple H and reform D-Generation X, where they went up against Undertaker and Kane - who reunited as the Brothers of Destruction. DX emerged victorious as Michaels got revenge on Undertaker for ending his career.

Interestingly, Michaels said that he doesn't consider the match at Crown Jewel as a legitimate in-ring return. The Heartbreak Kid said it was more of "a glorified house show live event" and it felt like "a favor." At any rate, Michaels is certain that his time in the ring is done now.

What This Means

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Michaels is ready to stay retired this time. He turns 54 years of age this month and seems keen on staying out of the ring. Michaels also displayed some rust in his match at Crown Jewel, and he'd have to go through tremendous amounts of training just to do one more bout. Add it all up, and it's impossible to see Michaels coming back for yet another match.
