Quietly, Sheamus has become one of the most accomplished wrestlers of our time, and alongside Cesaro, collectively known as The Bar, he’s been tearing it up for the past year all around the world. But according to the WWE and rumors online, the only reason the tag team is still together is because Sheamus suffers from something known as ‘Spinal Stenosis’, and it will eventually force him to retire from wrestling.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, this is an injury you can live with and work through, but only for a short amount of time, citing that plenty of guys backstage throughout WWE history have suffered through it. It’s an injury that is eventually going to cause him to slow down, and it will likely affect him in plenty of negative ways later in life. But for now it’s something that WWE is allowing him to work through, hence keeping him in a team to limit his bumps.

“Austin (Stone Cold) has it and he lives a normal life but he doesn’t wrestle anymore. It will probably shorten his career.” That’s a quote from the mailbag segment of Wrestling Observer Radio with Meltzer, proving that this is something you can definitely live and work through. But for the sake of his long term health, it’s something that is going to cause Sheamus to have to confront the end of his career, sooner rather than later.

So what do you guys think? Is this the best run of Sheamus’ career, despite the debilitating injury? How long do you think he’ll be able to wrestle? Do you think it’s best for his health to get out of wrestling now and transition backstage, or should he risk it and continue on as a part of The Bar?
