Heading into WrestleMania 34, there are plenty of matches to get excited about, and the event will seemingly offer something for every WWE fan. But for me, and the majority of the hardcore wrestling audience, the main reason I will be tuning in to ‘Mania in NOLA is the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, and NYPost.com interviewed the King of Strong Style ahead of the much anticipated dream rematch.

Since the two squared off at Wrestle Kingdom 10 back in 2016, their paths to this main event (or so it should be, since Nak won the Royal Rumble) have been completely different, but Shinsuke said “It’s amazing for WWE history, we crossed the border line in Japan and the States, different company and that’s why I say this is destiny”. However, the path has been a bit different between New Japan and WWE, and Shinsuke discussed those differences, saying that the main difference is time, as in Japan you can be more flexible with time, whereas WWE is very time sensitive, so you have to plan your matches to get everything in accordingly.

Thankfully, although the wrestling is different, Nakamura says he didn’t find it too hard to adjust, and now that he’s settled in on the main roster, he feels comfortable. With his dream match bringing a lot of hype to the show, it’s definitely showing. Another topic that Nakamura discussed was another dream match, and that’s with Daniel Bryan, who he expressed his admiration for. When asked about his return to the ring, Nakamura replied with a simple; “Next dream match for me”, so let’s hope we can see that one soon too.

So what do you guys think? Are you hyped for the match at ‘Mania? Who else would you love to see Nakamura face in the WWE (for me, I’d love to see him battle Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar if he’s around for any amount of time after ‘Mania)? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
