Ring Of Honor and Sinclair Broadcasting are very much on the same page right now, and both entities seem to believe the sky's the limit for the wrestling company.

There's no arguing that more fans were tuning in to watch pro wrestling live during the latter half of the 1990s than at any other time in the history of the business. Many fans who were around then and still are today believe that both WWE and WCW were fueled by competition with each other. That both promotions had to do their absolute best in order to beat the other.

Nowadays, WWE is perceived as not having any competition, so it doesn't try as hard. On some level that might very well be true. However, WWE's rivals are currently doing better than they have been since the death of WCW, and Ring of Honor is getting a lot of attention.

In fact, Sinclair Broadcasting, which airs ROH's weekly show, believes they currently have an "unpolished gem" with its resident wrestling company. Sinclair's CEO said to 411Mania "we think that’s an unpolished gem that ultimately should be something in the same light as WWE." A bold statement indeed. The Sportster reached out to ROH COO Joe Koff who had this response:

"Sinclair has been nothing short of incredible in their support and enthusiasm for our product. In just a few years, they have invested significant time and energy in expanding the scope and reach of Ring of Honor to a global audience. What makes Ring of Honor unique is our investment into our fans to help grow the massive grassroots support that has been the backbone of Ring of Honor since the very beginning. We are focused on continuing to improve our product by creating better programming and content-- through exciting live events and our over-the-top distribution network HonorClub-- for our fans, and providing a platform where our male and female athletes can showcase their talents and thrive within this industry."

What ROH currently has over its closest rivals, aside from WWE of course, is a safe and stable TV slot. Plus, a strong relationship with the company that broadcasts it. ROH has a broadcasting company that believes in it so strongly it thinks it can one day be on a similar level to WWE.
