The Bar won the Tag Team Championships at SmackDown 1000 on Tuesday, but how they went about doing that is a little confusing.
WWE's anniversary shows can often be a little all over the place. You need look no further than Raw's 25th anniversary from earlier this year for evidence of that. Hopefully, WWE learned a lot from that night. It must have done hence Vince McMahon not trying to broadcast SmackDown's 1000th episode from two different buildings at the same time.
Multiple buildings or not, a night like SmackDown 1000 is largely going to be about returning legends. The biggest stars to appear on the show during its 1000 episodes. That's why we were treated to segments featuring the likes of Batista, Edge, and The Undertaker. There's still the present day to think about though, and there was a healthy dose of normal service mixed into Tuesday's show.

Some of that normal service involved a SmackDown Tag Team Title match between New Day and The Bar. A match we have seen before, but one we don't mind seeing again. As it turns out, the match was more than just a reliable bout to fill time. Sheamus and Cesaro actually wound up winning the match. We are still pretty puzzled as to the circumstances that led to that win, though.
With the match descending into chaos at ringside, Big Show's music hit. The World's Largest Athlete slowly made his way to the ring and looked as if he was making a beeline for The Bar. Not so. He actually had his sights set on Kofi Kingston who he proceeded to chokeslam through an announce table. Since Kingston wasn't competing in the match, it didn't result in a disqualification.
Meanwhile, Big E was naturally pretty distracted by everything going on outside the ring. What he didn't notice was Sheamus lining him up for a Brogue Kick. The now former Tag Team Champion turned around and ate all of the Irishman's boot. Sheamus covered him for the win and he and Cesaro are now Tag Team Champions. Show celebrated with them after the match, but exactly why he helped them win is still unclear.
