WWE is apparently considering the idea of SmackDown Live being three hours long once the show moves to Fox.

There are a handful of complaints WWE must hear so often that it has reached a point where it just tunes them out. One of those is Raw being too long. Believe it or not, WWE's flagship show has now been three hours long on a permanent basis for almost seven years. No matter how much fans complain, that is never going to change due to the ad revenue WWE makes from it.

What we are thankful for is the three-hour treatment not being forced upon SmackDown Live. However, some fans may well be fearing the worst with the blue brand moving to Friday nights on Fox later this year. We hate to do this to you, but if you are a fan with those fears, we have some bad news.

RUMOR: BROCK LESNAR TO MOVE TO SMACKDOWN LIVE ONCE THE SHOW IS ON FOX

Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is indeed considering making SmackDown Live three hours long once it moves to Fox. "There is definitely a chance of that because the feeling is that since they have to film anyway and 205 Live is kinda just a waste of air," Meltzer said this week. That third hour won't be on the WWE Network, though.

No, according to Meltzer, the likelihood is that the first two hours will air on Fox with the third taking place on FS1. The belief is that WWE would be able to get an extra $50 million a year from Fox for that third hour. Although Fox has already agreed to pay WWE more than $1 billion for the rights to SmackDown Live, that much extra is hard to say no to.

The sheer amount of WWE programming already on offer is a topic that has been talked to death. Some fans argue that there is simply too much to keep up with. However, others believe that's the point. That WWE isn't trying to make shows that all of its fans will watch. Instead, it is creating different shows for fans with different tastes. That's exactly why Raw and SmackDown Live are so different from NXT, 205 Live, and NXT UK.
