Raw well and truly set the Survivor Series pace on Monday night. They really had no choice. Due to WWE's packed schedule, there are now less than two weeks until what is supposed to be one of the biggest PPVs of the year. Luckily, the champion versus champion matches obviously book themselves. However, there was a lot to be done in terms of putting Survivor Series teams together. That was the running theme on this week's SmackDown Live.

The first person we saw on this week's SmackDown Live was Paige. Smart considering the show took place in her home country of England on Tuesday night. The GM was quickly joined by Shane McMahon. Not so smart considering his shenanigans at Crown Jewel. The commissioner was ushered to the ring by vociferous boos from the Manchester crowd. Credit to McMahon, he quickly admitted that he is not, in fact, the best wrestler in the world. He explained he did what he did for SmackDown Live. That wasn't what he and Paige were there for, though. They announced that Daniel Bryan and The Miz are co-captains of the men's blue brand's Survivor Series team. Their job was to work together and pick three more competitors before the end of the night.

Meanwhile, we were informed that there would also be a Survivor Series style match for Raw and SmackDown Live's tag teams. That news was broken when New Day and The Usos came to the ring to do battle for the right to be called the blue brand's team captains. If you have been watching WWE for anything more than a few months, you'll know the chemistry that these two teams have. That was apparent once again on Tuesday night. It was The Usos who left with the win, but the twins made it clear that they have the utmost respect for their opponents after the match. At Survivor Series, we will get to see them work together.

Ronda Rousey had an aggressive message for Becky Lynch on Raw this week. The new and improved Lass Kicker is not the kind of person to take that kind of thing lying down. SmackDown's Women's Champion hit right back at Rousey and really got the fans riled up and behind her, as if they weren't already. In fact, Lynch got herself so riled up that she challenged anyone from the back to come out for a match. She wouldn't have been expecting who emerged. NXT and Sanity's Nikki Cross. The Twisted Sister gave the champ quite the match. However, just like everyone else, she eventually tapped to the dis-arm-her.

As we mentioned previously, the running theme throughout SmackDown Live was Miz and Bryan picking their Survivor Series team. They both agreed on adding Shane O Mac, for some reason, and Miz also let his co-captain bring in Rey Mysterio. Provided the luchador could put on an impressive performance versus Andrade Almas. He did exactly that so is a part of the team. However, after the match, Mysterio's celebrations were muted when he was dealt an RKO by Randy Orton.

While Miz and Bryan had to put together the men's team, it was up to Paige to assemble which women from the blue brand will compete at Survivor Series. Last week, she tried to get Charlotte Flair on board. However, The Queen seemed reluctant to be a part of anything right now. That trend seems to have continued. After announcing the other four members, Naomi, Asuka, Sonya Deville, and Carmella, Flair's music played but she did not come to the ring. Instead, Mandy Rose took it upon herself to join the rest of Paige's picks and insult them one by one.

With Mysterio and McMahon officially picked, that left one more spot on the men's team. Miz and Bryan decided to pick one Superstar each and have them compete for it. Bryan went for Jeff Hardy and The A-Lister opted for Samoa Joe. The co-captains were on commentary for the match and Bryan continued to voice how little he believes Joe can be a team player. That's why when The Destroyer won the match and rubbed it in Bryan's face, the former World Champion snapped. The two brawled into the ring and Joe wound up in the Yes Lock. He then attacked Miz when the co-captain dragged him off and even threw down McMahon when he got to the ring. Not a good start for Team SmackDown.
