This week's SmackDown included a tag team championship match, revisiting Bray Wyatt vs Braun Strowman, a karaoke contest, and Jeff Hardy accepting a bar fight challenge. Needless to say, the show was not one of WWE's best offerings.

The broadcast opened with an episode of Miz TV and Jeff Hardy was the guest. From there, the women's tag team champions were in a match as Sasha Banks and Bayley took on Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. SmackDown took a look back Strowman vs. Wyatt before gracing fans with a karaoke contest. Finally, the SmackDown tag team titles were defended.

Loser: Jeff Hardy Accepts Bar Fight

The promo portion of this segment wasn't terribly entertaining, but the idea that Hardy and Sheamus will fight it out in a bar fight (we assume cinematic) at least makes their likely final match interesting. That said, it has the potential to be a total dud and it makes you wonder just how much of The Horror Show at Extreme Rules is going to be a mini-movie.

There was speculation Hardy has been losing these Sheamus matches because he's not re-signed with WWE but our assumption here is that Hardy will pick up the win, overcoming both Sheamus and the temptation of alcohol that surrounds him.

The match that came about after the segment saw Hardy pick up a predictable win over The Miz. It wasn't a great contest. Sheamus taunting him via satellite just felt like lazy booking and that The Miz and Morrison interjected themselves at all in this feud seemed unnecessary.

Winner: Bayley and Banks vs. Bliss and Cross

Three of the four women in this match are performing at their absolute best right now. They saved this show from being one of the worst in recent memory. Bayley has really grabbed the heel role and run with it and you can tell Sasha Banks is having a blast. Nikki Cross may be just as entertaining with her "Naughty" gimmick and she's wildly fun to watch.

This match was a lot of that, even if it won't be remembered for being a mat classic. Bliss didn't do much more than grab a front row seat for all the fun. Nothing wrong with that.

Loser: Replaying the Money in the Bank Strowman vs Wyatt Match

WWE must have run out of ways to promote a cinematic match they've likely already filmed. As such, they simply replayed Strowman's defeat over Firefly Fun House Wyatt a few weeks ago. At the very least, WWE could have tried to bring fans another glimpse of the original Wyatt, teasing his return. Perhaps they'll do so next week?

If Wyatt is staying home for health reasons, let him shoot promos from there. It would have been a better use of valuable time.

Winner/Loser: Karaoke Contest

I was fully expecting to hate everything about this segment. Because I didn't, I'm calling it a winner. I'm well aware that will put me in the minority.

Here's what we learned. Jey Uso is an excellent host and kept things moving. Lacey Evans and Naomi are surprisingly decent singers and Dana Brooke was hilarious doing her best Honky Tonk Man impersonation. Even Tamina, who was obviously nervous, understood that this was probably not her thing so she thrashed around the ring and made it passable.

Some will argue these four women should have been wrestling, but let me ask you this? If they had, would you have remembered it? Now, everyone will talk about this, like it or not.

Despite the fact many viewers hit social media to talk about how almost unwatchable the segment was, what offended me most is that it appears WWE has decided to flip Lacey Evans again to a heel role. That they used something like this to do so is upsetting.

Loser: SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match

This match ending in a no-contest just cemented this SmackDown as one of the more lacking shows in some time. The idea here was to make Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura appear like formidable opponents and in taking out New Day after the match, perhaps one could argue WWE succeeded. This segment could have worked earlier in the night, but this just wasn't worthy of closing the show.

WWE must have been short on available talent for the show. When that happens, at least give fans something unexpected.
