Rapper Snoop Dogg has confirmed that WWE wasn't exactly pleased with his appearance on AEW television. The hip-hop icon is a lifelong wrestling fan who has had lots of involvement with WWE and is also cousin to former SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks.

Uncle Snoop was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a celebrity five years ago. He was also involved in The Undertaker's retirement last year, releasing a special line of jerseys bearing Taker and himself. However, he was on AEW's January 6 episode of Dynamite. The appearance came as a result of his ties with the Go-Big Show series on TBS.

Speaking on Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning podcast, he said, "They felt some type of way."

“Let me tell you this, Snoop Dogg ain’t no wrestler," Snoop continued. "He’s bigger than that. You gotta understand that. This is the dynamics of what happened: I had a show on TBS called Go-Big Show. So, Cody Rhodes was one of the judges on the show, and he’s one of the top dogs at AEW. So, as a promotional vehicle for the gig, I went on AEW."

WWE Pushed Pause On Snoop

The rapper also revealed WWE told him they would "push pause" on him as a result of the appearance but called him around two weeks later to say they want him in WWE 2K22. He agreed to be in the game but claims to have charged the company double because they blanked him for the AEW appearance.

“Hey, you f**king with them? We got to push pause on your a** for a minute,” Snoop recalled being told by WWE. “So, I stayed cool. They pushed pause for about two weeks, and then they go, ‘hey man, we got this videogame and we need you.'”

The trailer for the upcoming title dropped during WrestleMania 37 weekend earlier this month.
