Sonya Deville is back in WWE. She was seen walking around backstage on Friday's SmackDown as stars she passed looked on in confusion.

To the shock of many fans, and clearly a few wrestlers who had no idea she was set to return to WWE, Sonya Deville appeared on Friday's SmackDown and was said to be reinstated by the announcers. There was no explanation for why she was reinstated after losing a Loser Leaves WWE Match against Mandy Rose, but perhaps WWE will get there at some point in the future.

Deville took some time off after SummerSlam when it was learned a stalker had tried to get into her home back in 2020. It was a scary incident that required her to take some time away from WWE, appear in court to testify and probably gave her a chance to take a breath after the incident that clearly would have shaken most people.

There was no timeline listed for Deville's return, and as Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com said, "There were a lot of people in WWE that didn't expect Sonya Deville back for months to come, so this is a big shot in the arm."

Sapp is right in that this is a huge shot in the arm for WWE. Deville was on fire with her character prior to her needing to take time off. It was incredibly bad timing for her to have to leave when she did as she was quickly rising up the ranks of the women's division in WWE.

That she's back on SmackDown now should really help the division and we'll see if she can pick things up right where she left off.

Nice To Have Deville Back

As much as it's good to have Deville back in WWE, what's even better is that she feels comfortable enough to come back to work after what happened. For a lot of people, what happened with her stalker might have given her second thoughts about wanting to return to sports entertainment.

The most important thing is her health and well being and this is a great sign she feels like she's ready to get things back on track.
