WWE superstar Sonya Deville says she’s still receiving threats from unidentified individuals following a kidnapping attempt at her home. During that home invasion, 24-year-old Phillip A. Thomas II was arrested at the scene. The would-be kidnapper had previously sent Deville threatening messages on social media, and has since been charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief.

According to HeelByNature, Deville, who lives in Lutz, Florida, requested that the Hillsborough County Circuit Court seal portions of evidence in the case against Thomas, including photographs that reveal her home address as well as messages that identify her family members. The request was finally granted by the court after determining that Deville and her ex-girlfriend Ariana Johnson both qualify as "victim or witness at risk of harm" in the case since they were still receiving threats.

Messages from unidentified individuals included, "I'll finish the job that Phillip started" and "My knife is sharper than Phillp's." Meanwhile, Thomas has been denied bail even though his attorney argued for a $2 million bond. Judge Catherine Catlin ruled that he continued to be a threat to the safety of the wrestler and the community. He remains detained at the Hillsborough County Jail.

On Sunday, Deville lost a "Loser Leaves WWE" match to Mandy Rose at WWE SummerSlam. It's rumored that she may take some time off in light of the kidnapping attempt. Deville is the first openly gay female wrestler in WWE. On the May 22 episode of SmackDown, Deville and Dolph Ziggler defeated Otis and Mandy Rose in a tag team match. In July, Deville attacked Rose backstage and proceeded to cut her hair.

Deville first gained recognition as a contestant in the 2015 season of WWE Tough Enough, where she finished in eleventh place. After she was eliminated, she signed a contract with WWE and was sent to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Since then, she has performed in WWE's developmental territory NXT and its main roster as a solo competitor and in a tag team alongside Mandy Rose named Fire and Desire.
