One day after Blake Griffin dropped 50 points and lead his team to a win, Steph Curry decided it was his turn to hit the half-century mark. And he did it doing what he does better than anyone else in the league today (and arguably of all time) — he drained 3-pointers on his way to scoring 51 points in the Warriors 144-122 win over the Washington Wizards.

Curry knew it as going to be a good night late in the first quarter, as ESPN quotes Steph after the game saying: "Everything felt in rhythm. You start to get good looks, you don't have to force anything to find them and you can just repeat that same motion and it's going in."

And it sure was going in. In fact, Curry scored 31 of his 51 points in just 20 minutes in the first half. That is impressive, but it is also something he has done before. Curry has scored at least 30 points in a half nine times — which is second only to James Harden who has accomplished the feat 14 times in his career.

And what makes his 51 points even more impressive is that Curry sat on the bench and didn't play a single second of the fourth quarter. And sure, that makes sense given that the Warriors were easily winning the game. But there were no doubt plenty of fans who would have loved to see just how many points he could have scored had he played the whole game.

And speaking of career lists, Curry's performance last night moves him up a spot on a list that many people assume he will eventually top one day. With his 11 3-pointers made last night, Curry passed Jamal Crawford and moved into 5th place on the all-time list - behind Kyle Korver, Jason Terry, Reggie Miller and, of course, Ray Allen.

Steph now stands at 2,162 3-pointers to 2,973 for Ray Allen. that puts him 812 away from taking over the top spot. And given that over the previous six seasons he draind between 212 and 402 treys per season — a conservative estimate would say he is only five seasons away from passing Allen.
