Stephanie McMahon admitted that AEW is competition to WWE while talking to Superstars in the locker room at Money In The Bank.

Double Or Nothing is almost upon us. In just five days, AEW will be running its very first event in Las Vegas. It's pretty remarkable what the fledgling promotion has already managed to do despite having not actually put on a single match yet. It has already changed the wrestling landscape, but has WWE taken notice?

Although there have always been other wrestling promotions away from WWE, there has not been something quite like AEW for almost 20 years. The new company is being compared to WCW in a lot of ways. If it is going to take from the now-defunct wrestling giant, we hope it does so in a good way and not in a lot of the terrible ways that WCW has to offer.

Chris Jericho said last week that WWE and AEW are about to go to war whether the promotions want to admit it or not. According to Ringside News, WWE appears to be aware of that. Well, Stephanie McMahon does anyway. According to the site, McMahon held a meeting with the WWE locker room prior to Money In The Bank on Sunday night. Although the speech featured much of the same motivational stuff, there was an added addendum.

McMahon apparently referred to WWE's competition. While she referred to movies, gaming, and rival TV shows, she also mentioned AEW. It's probably safe to assume that if McMahon did refer to AEW as competition, this is the first time WWE has talked about another wrestling promotion in that way for a number of years. WWE might not be scared, but it knows it finally has a worthy dance partner.

We are gradually discovering more and more about AEW as time passes. Last week, we discovered that its weekly TV show will air on TNT. A huge announcement, and another similarity between it and WCW. We will likely know even more after Double Or Nothing this weekend. With the matches currently on the card, it promises to be a huge night one for AEW.
