Stephanie McMahon has let Rob Gronkowski know that he's welcome to join WWE following the news of the 29-year-old's retirement.

The former tight end won his third Super Bowl with the New England Patriots last month but closed curtains on his NFL career this past Sunday.

Of course, speculation over whether or not he joins Vince McMahon's wrestling promotion is rife, given his close friendship with Mojo Rawley and his fondness of WWE. But there's no indication as to what he's actually going to do, although Rawley has said that he expects to see his pal in the ring at some point.

Stephanie, meanwhile, took to Twitter to congratulate the former NFL star for receiving the USO-Metro's Merit Award on Wednesday and did not miss the opportunity to let him know that WWE's doors are open.

"Congratulations @RobGronkowski, this is a tremendous honor by one of my favorite organizations, @USOMetroDC, dedicate to serve those who serve and their families," she tweeted. "Thank you for all that you do and good luck with your retirement! Doors are always open @WWE!"

Gronkowski has already fanned the flames himself by making an appearance alongside multiple WWE stars at a community event this week. And Rawley has suggested that we could be about to see a different version of Gronk now that he's out of the NFL.

"Yo, let's go, baby," he said in a video message to the ex-Patriot. "It's time to turn up! The handcuffs are off!"

"You don't have the Patriots and the NFL locking you down anymore! If you thought Gronk was wild before, I'm telling you, wait 'til you see him without the shackles on!!!"

What This Means

WWE can take heart from the fact that All Elite Wrestling is not an option for the future NFL Hall of Famer. If he's going to join a promotion, it's going to be theirs. The biggest question regarding his possible wrestling future seems to be when. But he has plenty of time to decide what he wants to do next.
