Stephen A. Smith has gotten involved in yet another spat with an NBA player following his previous disagreement with Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo.

This time, Washington Wizards guard John Wall is the subject, with the pair having an exchange via Twitter after the ESPN reporter seemingly accused the player of planning to have surgery because he's having an underwhelming season.

Wall is scheduled to have a season-ending Achilles operation, something which has left Smith questioning whether he is ending his season because he won't make it to this year's All-Star Game.

The ESPN personality wrote that Wall is "leaving us wondering if he’s calling it a season because he ain’t about to make an All-Star team."

Wall took exception to the claim and has since asked Smith to speak to him man-to-man.

“It’s like this, if you have a personal problem with me, come talk to me like a man. If you want to talk about me as a basketball player, that’s fine. I’m cool with that. I can take that criticism. That’s what comes with being that guy,” he said via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

“But when you want to take things to a personal level, you can have a conversation with me 1-on-1 as a man. If you don’t like me, you just don’t like me. I’m fine with that. I might not like you, neither. It’s cool.”

The pundit responded, saying that he didn't want to hear anything about speaking to Wall man-to-man as he tried to do so on two previous occasions.

"I don’t want to hear a damn thing from Wall about talking to him man-to-man. I showed at one game and waited for him in the locker room; he wouldn’t come out. I showed up again when they played the Celtics," he tweeted.

"So the next time John Wall or any player tells you they are looking for me for a man-to-man convo, Chase Hughes, tell them to name the time and place and I’ll show up. I’d welcome it...even on my damn vacation. I’m not the one hiding. Never have! Never will!"

The player responded to Smith's tweet by posting: "Lol bra I walked passed me wit ur head down afta I got my x ray for my foot afta Boston game...stop cappin bra u know me...IDC who u know from my camp, stop hidin...Seem like u got a personal problem wit me not bout basketball."

And his reply prompted a detailed explanation from the reporter, which you can read below, along with the exchange in it's entirety:

What This Means

This isn't the first time Smith has been critical of Wall. Less than two months ago, he blasted the player's engagement in Washington's nightlife.

Wall did have himself quite the summer and looked to have put on some pounds during the offseason.

His play this term is certainly not above question as it has been very poor at times, but to suggest that he is looking to have surgery to simply avoid the embarrassment of not making an All-Star team seems a bit much - unless, of course, Smith knows more than he's letting on.
