One of the celebrity talents taking part at All In — the largest independent wrestling event on Sept.1, 2018 — has an opponent. It was announced that Stephen Amell will take on Christopher Daniels in a singles match.

Amell is best known for his work as the star of The CW’s flagship Arrowverse show Arrow. But, from time to time, he shows up at wrestling events having wrestled for WWE and developed a strong friendship with Cody Rhodes, working with him in on the independent scene. Likely pegged to be part of the All In Event from the moment Rhodes decided to take on the task of selling out an area for an indie show, Amell will now be tasked with filling a few minutes of that show as a draw in a wrestling match against one of wrestling's all-time great veteran indie wrestlers.

This won't be a SummerSlam match where Amell's lack of wrestling experience can be hidden. This is a singles contest where all eyes will be on every move, trying to prove an independent show, without major international stars, can provide the kind of revenues that would compete, in some small way, with WWE.

ALL IN will take place at the Sears Center Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL. Amell posted an update on Instagram, stating,”Being an undefeated professional wrestler and Slammy award winner isn’t something I take lightly. I expect that my first singles match will be a decisive victory.” Daniels responded to Amell’s threat by saying, “I’m going to cancel ARROW.”

Amell and Daniels have run into each other before. In November, Amell appeared alongside Bullet Club members Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks, facing Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, Flip Gordon and Scorpio Sky. The Bullet Club won the match but Amell arguably lost the war being put through a table by Daniels.

While Amell will be asked to take on more responsibility, this is a great fit considering Daniels can put on a good match with a broomstick. He's got so much experience and can help Amell, this match probably won't win the match of the night, but should be an entertaining part of the show.
