Former WWE Star Evan “Air” Bourne, aka Matt Sydal, who made his AEW debut at All Out in the 21-Man Casino Battle Royale, recently discussed who he considered to be the best high-flyers in pro wrestling on the Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast.

“You know what, let’s go Ricochet, PAC and Rey Fenix. Rey Fenix is just in a league of his own. He’s for sure at the top of my list. [John] Morrison has got to be up there,” Sydal said.

Sydal, a one-time WWE Tag Team Champion, with Kofi Kingston also said, “All three of The Rascalz, I think, are awesome. Morrison’s got to be up there with Ricochet and PAC and Rey Fenix. And Jack Evans, of all time. Jack Evans is possibly the best of all time.”

In 2012, the wrestler broke his foot in four places and dislocated it in five in a motorcycle accident. After taking a year off from wrestling, he returned to WWE on March 28, 2013, at a NXT live event, defeating Sami Zayn. The following year, on June 12, WWE announced that the wrestler had been released from his contract.

Known for his high flying but hybrid lucha libre and puroresu styles of wrestling, Sydal was named the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Best Flying Wrestler in 2008. Aside from WWE, the 37-year-old has also wrestled for Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Evolve and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he is a former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and a one-time NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion.

Sydal is scheduled to return to Ring Of Honor for the Pure Championship in an opening-round match in the ‘B Block’ against Delirious. The two debuted in ROH as opponents sixteen years ago. The match will be Sydal’s first appearance at ROH since he was defeated by Marty Scurll on May 12, 2017, at War Of The Worlds in New York City.
