Four of NXT's best tag teams battled it out for the vacant Tag Team Championships at TakeOver XXV.

2019 has been a year full of NXT call-ups so far. One of those call-ups came in the form of The Viking Raiders. After a couple of appearances and a couple of name changes, Erick and Ivar decided to relinquish their NXT Tag Team Titles. That left the championships vacant, and that was rectified at NXT TakeOver XXV.

Since Street Profits were the team that came closest to beating the Raiders, they were naturally one of the four teams involved. They were joined in an epic ladder match by two members of Undisputed ERA, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, and the Forgotten Sons. Throw eight men as talented as these in a ladder match on a TakeOver card, and entertainment is guaranteed.

The eight-man match might be the most chaotic ladder match we have seen in NXT, and that is saying something. The Superstars in this one pulled off moves with the ladder that we had never seen. Then things got even more hectic when the third Forgotten Son, Jaxson Ryker entered the fray. With his partners not faring so well, the behemoth thought he would come lend a hand.

For a while, Ryker managed to hold off the other three teams all by himself. Not for long enough, though. The six of them worked together to rid the match of Ryker and then returned to the task at hand. Eventually, with the crowd at a fever pitch, Montez Ford ascended the ladder and claimed the title for himself and his Street Profits partner, Angelo Dawkins.

Street Profits were the team that started the chase for the title before The Viking Raiders had even left NXT. It's only right that the journey ended with them becoming champions. However, their victory is merely the end of one chapter. Now that Dawkins and Ford have the titles, the targets on their backs will be even bigger. The other three teams plus every other duo in NXT will want their shot at the titles Street Profits now hold.
