The first NXT TakeOver of the year is almost upon us. No matter NXT's format or who fills the black and gold brand's locker room, its TakeOver events are always among the very best shows in wrestling today. The limited matches on the card and the freedom given to Superstars has allowed for some of the most memorable matches of the past few years, and we're sure installment 33 will be no different. NXT TakeOver will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2021. As always, the event will stream exclusively on the WWE Network and will begin at 7 pm EST. A 30-minute pre-show will air live right before the show.

Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Martinez for the NXT Women's Championship

via WWE

Toni Storm returned to NXT at the tail end of 2020 and she really means business. Not only does the Aussie want to rule over all of NXT, but she also featured in the women's Royal Rumble this year. Something other than Io Shirai stands in the way of her becoming NXT Women's Champion though, and that's Mercedes Martinez. Martinez has also returned to NXT after a brief stay on Raw and also wants the gold. Shirai will certainly have the odds stacked against her in this match.

Finn Balor vs. Pete Dunne for the NXT Championship

via WWE

As far as potential title matches go, nothing will excite wrestling purists more than Finn Balor versus Pete Dunne. The Bruiserweight has been on a tear since he returned to NXT, and now he wants the black and gold brand's richest prize. Plenty of notable names will be keeping a close eye on this match too. Karrion Kross wants a shot at the title he never lost, and Edge might opt to challenge whoever wins this match at WrestleMania.

Johnny Gargano vs. Kushida for the NXT North American Championship

via WWE

Johnny Gargano might have shaken off the curse of losing titles at the first hurdle, but that North American Championship is still a huge target for a lot of Superstars. One of those Superstars is Kushida, a man still looking for his first taste of gold in NXT since moving to the brand from Japan. This started as Kushida helping even the odds for Leon Ruff, but on Vengeance Day, it will just be him and Gargano.

MSK vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans in the Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final

via WWE

MSK's arrival in NXT was touted as a big deal when the team debuted during the first round of the Dusty Classic. Clearly, WWE shares that fan excitement as the duo has made it all the way to the tournament's final. The Grizzled Young Veterans stand in the way of the new team making the biggest splash possible in the shortest amount of time. Don't sleep on this match, it's going to be a good one.

Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Final

While the men's final might well be the match of the night, the women's final will be the one that makes history. That's because there has never been a women's version of the tournament before. One of these teams will be the first to ever win a women's Dusty Classic. Plus, as was announced on NXT this week, the winners will also get a shot at the Women's Tag Team Titles.
