Former Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie has exited Impact Wrestling. The 37-year-old Canadian wrestler was written out of the promotion on last night’s Impact on AXS episode. According to PWInsider, Valkyrie’s two year deal was extended for an additional year in 2019 and just expired.

In her last appearance, Valkyrie revealed that she shot John E. Bravo at his recent wedding to Rosemary to keep her from marrying him. She didn’t realize that Rosemary, who is a demon, was using Bravo for his virgin blood. After her admission, Tommy Dreamer had Valkyrie carted off to jail.

Dreamer joked that she’d be lucky to go to Jacksonville State Prison (AEW). If not, she may end up at Stamford Correctional (WWE) for two years with an option for a third. Meanwhile, Acey Romero hoped she didn’t end up in Baltimore (ROH). After the segment, Valkyrie tweeted, “I’m not crying, you’re crying.”

Valkyrie is currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in Mexico, where she is the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion in her third reign and the inaugural winner of the Women's Lucha Capital. Married to WWE RAW Superstar John Morrison, she debuted with Impact in 2017.

She held the Impact Knockouts Championship for 377 days from January 2019 to January 2020, the longest Knockouts Champion reign of all-time. She eventually lost the title to Jordynne Grace during Impact Wrestling television tapings in Mexico City.

The wrestler lost to Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo at Saturday’s Hard To Kill PPV, just days after losing to Kimber Lee on the go-home Impact show. On September 15, 2019, Valkyrie wrestled in the Impact Wrestling and AAA event Lucha Invades NY, where she defeated Tessa Blanchard to become AAA Reina de Reinas Champion for the third time.

Last March, Valkyrie became the second woman to challenge for the Impact World Championship. In a face-off with Blanchard, the first ever main event featuring two women in a world title match, Valkyrie was defeated by Blanchard.
