Ted DiBiase has reintroduced the Million Dollar Title to WWE and it will be on the line at In Your House this weekend.

Cameron Grimes newfound riches thanks to his dabbling in the stock market has made for quite the interesting on-screen persona in 2021. His vignettes have been must-watch and the addition of The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase to the mix has made the whole angle even more intriguing. However, new recruit LA Knight is determined to throw a spanner in the works.

A Ladder Match At In Your House

The two of them will clash this weekend at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. DiBiase will likely be in attendance, and also paid NXT a visit for the go-home show this week. The Million Dollar Man had a special announcement to make. Well, actually, turns out he had two of them.

The first announcement was that Grimes and Knight's match on Sunday will be a ladder match. However, you can't have a ladder match with nothing waiting for you at the top. That's when DiBiase had a briefcase brought into the ring. The Hall of Famer opened the briefcase to reveal his most prized possession. The Million Dollar Championship. That's what will be hanging above the ring this Sunday.

The History Of The Million Dollar Title

The Million Dollar Title actually has a long history in WWE. It was first introduced by DiBiase more than 30 years ago. However, its appearances have been few and far between. It was first retired in 1991 before being reintroduced and given to Steve Austin, or The Ringmaster as he was known at the time, four years later. After being retired for a second time, the title wouldn't be seen again in WWE until Ted DiBiase Jr. started wearing it in 2010.

After another extended break, the belt is back and will be won by an all-new champion by the end of the week. Not just by someone who has never been The Million Dollar Champion, but by someone who is yet to win gold in WWE full stop. It's also unclear at this point whether the championship will be sticking around. Grimes and Knight have pretty big egos, so our guess is whoever wins it, they'll be wearing it for a while afterwards.
