Terrell Owens made headlines with his decisions to not attend his Hall of Fame induction ceremony and he continues to garner attention from the sports world with his desire to come out of retirement and play pro football again — either in the NFL or the Canadian Football League.

Owens' Canada-based agent, Jason Staroszik has been quoted by ESPN as saying that T.O. "100 percent" wants to play football again at the pro level. "He wants to play in the NFL... But if he can't, the CFL is the next-best option."

Owens' current CFL rights are held by the Edmonton Eskimos and he just activated a certain procedure that requires them to offer him a contract (which could be as low as the league rookie minimum within the next 10 days — which he would most probably not accept — or release him from their exclusive negotiation list.

As for his NFL possibilities, the 44-year-old Owens has no reported suitors in the league at this time. He was last seen playing on an NFL roster in 2010 for the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2012, he did go to the Seattle Seahawks training camp after playing briefly for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League — but he was released by the Seahawks that August.

Owens' personality and attitude didn't always mesh with teammates and coaches and that is also the reason it took a few tries before he finally got the Hall of Fame induction he certainly deserves (and why he decided to forgo the ceremony and celebrate in the afternoon at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga).

There is no denying that Owens was a great Wide Receiver though, and even today — eight years out of the league — he still trains as if he is an active player. Recently posting a video of himself running the 40-yard dash in under 4.45 seconds. A time that would put him in the top 10 times among all wideouts at the recent 2018 NFL combine!
