Following their close 23-21 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday, the Houston Texans reached an impressive feat that hasn't been accomplished since 1925.

Per SportsCenter, the Texans are the first team since the 1925 New York Giants to win seven straight games after starting out 0-3.

It's been a remarkable turnaround for the Texans, who looked completely out of the playoff race after losing at home to the lowly New York Giants 27-22 back in Week 3. But head coach Bill O'Brien deserves all the credit in the world for keeping this team together - especially considering the dismal 4-12 record they had last season.

Houston is now in the driver's seat for the AFC South division crown, and they're in the running for home field advantage with the Kansas City Chiefs (9-1), New England Patriots (7-3), and Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2-1).

Second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson has been key in Houston's turnaround, with 2,597 passing yards and 18 touchdown passes. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins keeps on producing with 68 patches for 950 yards and eight touchdowns. At this rate, Hopkins will easily set career highs across the board.

After a sluggish start, the Houston defense has been nothing short of dominant during the win streak. They rank seventh in yards allowed (330.5 per game), and sixth in scoring defense (20.5 points allowed per game).

What This Means

The Texans have all the makings to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender now. They've never had a quarterback as talented as Watson, the wide receivers and running backs are big time playmakers, and the defense is a championship-caliber unit.

Teams like the Texans are scary in January, when they're surging with both momentum and confidence. This team quickly erased an 0-3 start; going from No. 1 draft pick contention to vying for home field advantage in the playoffs.

Setting a feat that hadn't been accomplished in 92 years is amazing enough to begin with. We'll see if the Texans can add on top of it.
