The Miz has enjoyed an excellent tenure in the WWE over the past decade, and the eight-time Intercontinental Champion still has plenty left to accomplish in what's shaping up to be a Hall of Fame-caliber career.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, The Miz has signed a new four-year contract that runs through 22. The 37-year-old and soon-to-be father has kept himself in supreme shape, and looks poised to maintain his strong in-ring ability for the next several years.

One of the longest-tenured WWE superstars, Miz was the runner-up in the 2004 Tough Enough program, losing to Daniel Puder. But The Miz impressed officials enough, and joined the company under its developmental program. He debuted on SmackDown in 2006, and has not looked back.

Thanks to his increasingly strong microphone skills, The Miz has emerged as one of the top heels on the WWE roster. The aforementioned eight-time Intercontinental Champion also held the WWE Championship and has two United Stats titles under his belt. In short, Miz has been one of the company's top mid-card wrestlers in recent memory.

Last month, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that there's a strong push being planned for Miz heading into WrestleMania 34. But Miz's baby is expected to be born around the date of 'Mania, so it's entirely possible he will not be appearing in New Orleans this year.

The Miz defeated Roman Reigns on the Raw 25th Anniversary show to win his eighth Intercontinental title. He's one short of tying Chris Jericho for most reigns with the championships.

Miz also did an interview with ESPN in January, and said that he would not retire until he defends the Intercontinental Championship in a main event at WrestleMania. With a shiny new four-year contract, time is on his side.
