WWE legend turned Hollywood megastar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been named the number one reason to love the United States of America by People Magazine.

The former WWE Champion graces the cover of this week's edition of the popular celebrity news magazine which lists "100 Reasons To Love America."

To commemorate the occasion, The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment shared some words of gratitude on People's website.

“It feels great. I’ve been a lucky guy over the years to have the career that I’ve been blessed enough to have,” Rock said. “And things like this, I’m always appreciative. We’re here in Hawaii, where I did a lot of my growing up… I was just Dwayne Johnson, the kid who’s having a hard time going to school making his classes. I never expected in my wildest of wild dreams that I would ever be in a position to be on the cover of People – and certainly not with this kind of title.”

As far as wrestling is concerned, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that WWE is hoping The Rock will return for a match at either the next WrestleMania or the one after.

"Obviously The Rock & Roman Reigns is something that they’re building towards and it would be — every year gets tougher and tougher because Dwayne gets a year older and, you know, but I think he really wants to do a match against Roman Reign," Meltzer explained. "I think for sure it’ll be in next two WrestleManias, and if he can pull it off, the next WrestleMania."

The Rock announced his retirement from professional wrestling back in 2019, but recently The Great One has said that he'd be interested in facing his cousin Roman Reigns under the right circumstances. Reigns also stated that a match with The Rock at WrestleMania "makes sense."
