With The Undertaker competing at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view last Sunday, it was logical to believe he was also going to be used for SummerSlam - one of the four major WWE pay-per-views.

SummerSlam is an event where WWE tries to stack the card with as many big names as possible, after all. But according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), Undertaker currently isn't on the "lineup" for SummerSlam. Meltzer noted that this could all change, as the show is still three weeks away.

Meltzer himself is confused by the decision, believing (like many of us) that WWE would have placed Undertaker in Extreme Rules so that they could build up a potential match at SummerSlam.

Undertaker and Roman Reigns teamed up at Extreme Rules and defeated Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. There was an advertisement for a match between The Deadman and The Scottish Psychopath at SummerSlam, but Meltzer reported last week that the bout wasn't in the plans.

And so, you can't help but wonder why WWE would use Undertaker for a match at a non-major pay-per-view event, but leave him out of the card for SummerSlam. The Deadman put on a tremendous in-ring performance last week, one that reportedly had him, Reigns, Shane O'Mac and McIntyre in high spirits afterwards.

If WWE doesn't end up using Undertaker for SummerSlam, then it's anybody's guess when we'll see him in the ring next. It's logical to believe WWE will try to have him for another major pay-per-view in Survivor Series, which takes place on Nov. 24. Hopefully, we'll see Undertaker before then.

What This Means

Many were surprised that Undertaker didn't even take part in WrestleMania 35 this year, and he was also absent from Royal Rumble. If he misses SummerSlam, that will be three major pay-per-view shows without Undertaker, which would be a total shame.
