Finn Balor may not be "over" with the brass in WWE, but he's over with the WWE Universe. If anyone needed evidence of that fact, see Monday's Raw where Balor reunited officially with his old running mates Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, The Good Brothers. Interrupting The Shield during the opening of the show, the crowd wasn't so much into The Shield, but they hung upon every word "The Balor Club" offered in hopes the reunion wasn't a one-time thing.

A one-time thing it was not. Balor was emphatic in his declaration 2018 was going to be the year of the Balor Club and the group was featured prominently on the show, scoring a victory in the main event.

For Balor, this reunion was a long time coming. Rumored to want a change in his character, he's also not been shy in public interviews about his desire to form a group with his friends. But, why would Balor give up on potentially using his "Demon King" gimmick to lead a new faction?

Here are 5 Theories Why Finn Balor Formed Balor Club.

5. They Are Extremely Close

via cagesideseats.com

There is a real history between these three friends, especially Karl Anderson and Balor who are about as tight as any two friends can be in the WWE. If you're going to work regularly with a team, it makes sense to work with the friends who helped you form the original Bullet Club.

Unlike other groups where singles wrestlers were simply thrown together for the sake of making a new group, this is what these three likely always wanted. So, when the opportunity arose to work together, all three likely jumped at the chance.

4. Balor Needed A Change

Whether you agree with the WWE and their assessment of Balor's popularity or not, there were rumors Balor was looking at making a change. While his "Demon King" character was popular and he may still break it out from time to time, it wasn't something he felt worth using on a regular basis. His regular Balor persona wasn't what the WWE felt they could invest in.

If the risk was Vince McMahon wanting only the face-painted version of Balor's character, and Balor was leading a club of one, it made more sense to try something else. Leading a new faction and allowing them to become popular as a unit is definitely a change.

3. Wants To Help His Buddies Get Over

To say Anderson and Gallows weren't hitting their stride since coming over to the WWE would be phrasing things kindly. They were huge in Japan but that popularity didn't carry over and the WWE didn't respect their iconic international status as one of the greatest tag teams outside the WWE.

Now, as part of this group, they have a chance to shine. There's something very similar in the way the New Age Outlaws joined DX in this partnership. If WWE gets behind the Balor Club, Gallows and Anderson could become a top tag team and Finn Balor would be extremely happy for his friends.

2. A Vince McMahon Decision

There is a chance this decision to put Balor with The Good Brothers was not a Balor suggestion. If Vince wasn't happy with Balor and where his character was going, Vince may have called an audible and decided he needed to switch things up.

Balor was on the wrong end of poor booking decisions and as unpopular as Vince might have found him, he has much bigger potential than being buried on Raw in matches with the Miztourage or taking a clean pin to wrestlers like Kane. Vince may have determined this was better for Balor and it helped a tag team at the same time.

Perhaps this is something Vince feels he can expand to combat the Bullet Club (which he is rumored to despise).

1. Could Create A Dominant Faction

It's too early to know but The Balor Club could be a huge success. The group is connected to the insanely popular Bullet Club. and there's a large faction of wrestling fans who want this group to succeed.

Balor may know this group has a real chance to be something special and what we know about Balor is that he's passed up opportunities to do what he loves doing. If he feels this group is something he can get behind, it could be massive.
