Tom Brady prefers to take things easy and not make any type of projections about Patriots’ latest acquisition Josh Gordon.

The New England Patriots decided to take the gamble and acquired the wide receiver Josh Gordon through a trade on Monday. To think about that one of the greatest quarterbacks that has ever played this game will have one of the most talented receivers of the league to throw to should excite every Patriot fan, giving them hopes to have another successful season. However, the fourth-time Super Bowl MVP rather not to have any projections or expectations about the 2013 Pro-Bowler.

"You know, I hate to make projections and expectations. That's not fair," Brady told Jim Gray on Westwood One. "I've never met Josh personally, just like I hadn't met some of the guys that have come in the last couple weeks. So, we'll see how it goes this week and hopefully, he can work hard, put the team first and end up helping us in any role that he can find for himself on the team."

On paper, the Brady-Gordon duo sounds promising, but we still need to wait to see which Gordon we’ll see playing for New England. The one of 2013 who went to the Pro Bowl after becoming the receiving-yards leader of the league or the one who only played eleven games in the following three seasons due to multiple league's substance abuse policy violations.

The Patriots quarterback pointed out that it could take some time for Gordon to get into a rhythm with the team.

“Any time you get someone in the middle of the season, there's obviously a lot of things that have happened that have got the team to a certain point that they weren't a part of," Brady said. "So, you know, I'm not sure how many of those things matter, but you'd like to try to get up to speed as quickly as possible and it's really up to the individuals”

“I'm just going to try to go be the positive, enthusiastic leader that I am and try to be a great quarterback and try to embrace whoever's on the team. And we've all got to play a lot better than we played yesterday and that's really where our focus should be."

On Sunday, the Patriots weak group of receivers played an important role in the 20-31 loss to Jacksonville.

When Brady was asked about how long it takes him to find the right chemistry with his wide receivers, he answered that it’s a play-by-play process.

“It depends. It is play-by-play, day-by-day, week-by-week, and you can’t skip steps," he said. "I always think trust is whatever wide receiver is out there. You tell them to run a certain route, and they run it the way you talked about, the ball is thrown, it’s caught, it’s a positive play and then you do it again.”

"I always think trust is whatever receiver is out there, you know, you tell them to run a certain route and they run it the way that you talked about it, the ball is thrown, it's caught, it's a positive play and then you do it again. If it's a flip of the coin and 50-50, sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong, I mean nobody can really depend on that."

The former Brown’s receiver will be eligible to suit up for Sunday night's game against Detroit, but Bill Belichick will have the last word.

The last time Tom Brady played with a wide receiver with Gordon’s skills he made history going 16-0 in 2007 playing along with the Hall of Famer Randy Moss.
