Sunday was one of the worst performances by the New England Patriots in the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era, and the franchise quarterback was rightfully fed up with the team's performance in the early going.

After the Patriots fell behind 14-0 during their road contest with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels were seen yelling with passion at the players, which sent Twitter into a frenzy.

It was a miserable performance by the Patriots as a whole on Sunday. The final score was 31-20 for Jacksonville, but the game was not as close as  the score may indicate. New England's first touchdown was gifted following a Jaguars' fumble. Their second touchdown came in garbage time, with the game virtually out of reach.

Brady completed 24 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns, but he was sacked twice and lost a fumble which Jacksonville recovered in the fourth quarter, all but ending the hopes of a comeback. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was shut down by the Jaguars as Jalen Ramsey had promised, notching just two catches for 15 yards.

The Patriots defense had no answer for quarterback Blake Bortles, whom many pegged as the only question mark on this otherwise stacked Jacksonville team. Bortles completed 29 passes for 377 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, shrugging off the doubters who said he couldn't win the big games.

It's not often where the Patriots defense and offense have off days in the same game, but Sunday in Jacksonville was an exception. It was also the first time where Brady had ever lost to the Jaguars, who finally got through their Kryptonite with relative ease.

The win for Jacksonville was also key when you factor in the home field advantage implications. They now own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Patriots, though it seems quite clear that one team is far superior through the first two weeks.

For the Patriots, home advantage in the playoffs shouldn't even be on their minds right now. Rather, a better defense, more protection for Brady and production from the wide receivers should be the main concern.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are off to an excellent 2-0 start, and they've made it clear that a team outside of Foxborough is now the squad to beat in the AFC.
