Tomasso Ciampa hints that he could be back sooner than anyone anticipated by sending a warning to current NXT Champion, Adam Cole.

It is almost always heartbreaking when a wrestler has to relinquish a championship due to a real-life injury. Even worse is that it happens far more often in the present day than it ever has before. Due to advances in medicine and science, wrestlers can no longer work through injuries or keep them hidden from promoters like they would have done in the past.

Some of the more notable occasions when we've seen it happen have gone hand in hand with retirements. Edge, Daniel Bryan, and Paige immediately spring to mind. The Hardy Boyz also had to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Titles earlier this year. Hopefully, in Matt and Jeff's case, we will see the two of them wrestle again.

We're also hoping that's the case with Tomasso Ciampa. A tweet from The Black Heart of NXT would certainly imply that Ciampa will return, maybe much sooner than any of us are anticipating. An incredibly healthy looking Ciampa posted a photo of himself at Evolve's 10th-anniversary show this past weekend. He zoomed in on his upper arm, but due to the sheer size of it, he really didn't need to.

Ciampa used the tweet to remind fans that he is only four months out of having serious neck surgery. He then issued a warning to the current NXT Champion, Adam Cole. The former champ asked fans to direct their thoughts and prayers to Cole rather than him, signing off by writing that he "wants Goldie back...BayBay."

After relinquishing the title, Cole went to war with Johnny Gargano in a two out of three falls match for the vacant championship. Although Gargano won on that occasion, Cole would defeat the now former champion in a rematch. Now the worrying thing for Cole is that the never defeated former champion might be back in NXT sooner than anyone could have predicted. Despite the belief that Ciampa would be gone from the ring for more than a year, the shape he is currently in would suggest he'll be back for Goldie far sooner.
