On Wednesday's episode of NXT, Toni Storm turned heel, attacked Ember Moon and joined Candice LeRae's team for NXT "Takeover: WarGames 2020". The question is why and what's next for the budding WWE female star?

Storm will side with LeRae's team as they go up against Team Shotzi Blackheart. It will be LeRae with Storm, along with Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Meanwhile, outside of assuming Ember Moon will join Blackheart, the rest of their team has yet to be announced.

But, the takeaway from Wednesday's show was that Storm turned heel by attacking Moon and it appears she's in line for a big push as one of NXT's villains.

The heel turn came after LeRae defeated Moon in a singles match and Moon barely escaped a beatdown by Kai, Gonzalez and Indi Hartwell. Moon retreated up the ramp and when joined by Storm, thought she had the backup she needed to return to fight. Only, as she was climbing in the ring, Storm pulled her back out and threw her into the steps before feeding her to the heels inside the ring.

Storm said in an backstage interview that she warned everyone they would see a new version of her when she returned to the black and gold brand. She wasn't kidding.

Why Turn Storm Heel?

It's probably easier to push Toni Storm as a singles star while a heel but she's also done well when allowed to really show her personality inside the ring. One of the more charismatic females on the NXT brand, the belief is that as a heel, she'll get a chance to stand out more.

Storm has somewhat of a Shawn Michaels vibe to her and Michaels absolutely exploded when he turned heel after turning on former partner Marty Jannetty. While Storm and Moon weren't a tag team, hopefully the same explosion happens for Storm who has been aching to get back to WWE after the pandemic hit.
