Friends of the Gaspard family have set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for Shad's wife and son.

The wrestling world was left in shock earlier this week when news broke that Shad Gaspard, one half of WWE's Cryme Tyme, had gone missing after getting caught in a riptide. Lifeguards managed to rescue Shad's son Aryeh, something the wrestler insisted on during the rescue attempt but didn't have time to return and save him.

The search for Shad went on for three days until his body was found in Venice Beach, California during the earlier hours of Wednesday morning. Officials confirmed that it was indeed Shad later that day. Ever since then, wrestlers from all corners of the business have been paying tribute to and sharing stories about Shad.

Those close to the wife and son Shad leaves behind have set up a GoFundMe for the two of them in the wake of the tragedy. The description on the GoFundMe page explains that all money donated will to Siliana, Shad's wife, to help cover bills and expenses during this difficult time. It will also go towards Aryeh's future college fun, Shad's ten-year-old son who he helped save during his last act on Earth.

The list of those to have donated to the fund so far reveals that AEW owner Tony Khan is one of those to have given money. Khan has donated $10,000 to the fund. An incredible gesture from a man we're not even sure ever met Shad, but just has an all-round love for the wrestling business. Khan's $10,000 donation is 10% of the $100,000 goal and more than 25% $38,000 donated so far.

A touching gesture from Khan, and not the only way in which someone affiliated to AEW has paid their respects in a unique way this week. Frankie Kazarian has stated, win or lose, his performance in tonight's Casino Ladder Match will be dedicated to Shad. Fans who wish to make a donation to the GoFundMe set up in his memory and to help his wife and son continue with their lives as normal as is possible at this time can do so by heading to the link below.
