All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan has revealed that popular (and controversial) cartoon South Park was behind the staging setup at Fight for the Fallen on Saturday night.

Fight for the Fallen was AEW's third show since their emergence as the latest major wrestling promotion and the company is continuing to enjoy success ahead of the debut of their weekly TNT show.

Khan answered questions in a post-show media scrum following the PPV on Saturday and was asked about the seating arrangements.

“Who has seen the wrestling episode of South Park?” he asked in response (via Sescoops).

“My thought is with an amphitheater the challenge is where do you put the ring and how do you present to the crowd and to me what’s great about it is you put the ring in the pit you open up so many possibilities for what you can do with the staging.”

He added that the open-air amphitheater setup could continue to be used after Saturday night's big event.

“It opens up a lot of venues but obviously this is like our home venue,” he noted.

The AEW chief said previously that he wasn't expected to profit off the show due to most of the money made set for charitable donations.

"We’re donating a very large amount of money, and this show is not designed to make a profit. It was never designed to make a profit," he explained ahead of Fight for the Fallen.

"It’s not going to make any money, and we’re in fact going to donate money made to the Victim’s Advisory Assistance Council, which the mayor has set up."

It appears that AEW's creativity doesn't stop at being original. Their Fyter Fest PPV last month had a street fighter theme for one of the tag matches and... now South Park.
