Tony Khan was just awarded two major awards by The Wrestling Observer @WONF4W readers who voted him 2020 Booker of the Year and Promoter of the Year! Despite the fact some fans are calling the results controversial, it's a huge feat and these are awards voted on by the fans.

The only other times that anyone won both awards in the same year were Vince McMahon who did so three times between the years of 1998-2000 and Baba who did so twice (90-91). Khan said of being given the honor, "I dreamed of this day for decades, thank you all so much."

Some of Khan's associates are publicly acknowledging the awards as well. Cody said: “Congratulations @TonyKhan - Booker/Promoter of the year in the 41st annual @WONF4W Awards! Beating out both legendary promoters Dana White and Vince McMahon. Amazing.” Matt Hardy chimed in and wrote, "You put young talent in positions to succeed. You’re patient with them & correct course when needed. You book legends like legends."

Dustin Rhodes wrote, "Those that take chances will always succeed. Very true and AEW's Tony Khan is the proof. Congrats again!!" Ricky Starks wrote, "Booker of the Year. Promoter of the Year. Great human being. LFG. Congrats." Taz added, "This mans passion, knowledge, his desire to WIN & his work ethic is unmatched...FACT."

The reaction to the news has been funny to watch as the lines are clearly drawn with WWE fans on one side and AEW fans on another, but it's hard to take away from what AEW and Khan have managed to accomplish in 2020.
