The Toronto Raptors appear to be one of the few teams that look capable to compete against the Golden State Warriors for the NBA championship this season.

Wednesday night at Oracle Arena, the Raptors achieved something they haven't done since 2004, and that's a win in Golden State. The Raptors were also without Kawhi Leonard but were still able to defeat the Warriors by a score of 113 to 93.

A couple of weeks ago, the Warriors came into Toronto and lost by a score of 131 to 128. This victory for the Raptors now means that they have swept the two-game season series against the Warriors.

Just like how Letourneau said above, who is actually a Warriors beat writer for those of you asking. But the Raptors have a very complete lineup when they're healthy. Even without Leonard, the Raptors were able to blow out the high-scoring Warriors lineup.

This makes their roster so dangerous and lethal. It's amazing how a 59-win team from a season ago, could improve their roster so drastically in just one season. With the additions of Leonard, Danny Green and Greg Monroe, this Raptors team has one of the deepest rosters in the NBA.

Especially with the Raptors now without Jonas Valančiūnas for a lengthy period of time, the depth of their roster is being tested again. But, they have proved even without Norman Powell, who's still out recovering from shoulder surgery. Their bench is and has been the key for the Raptors long-term success.

Another reason why the Raptors are contenders for the NBA championship, is because they finally have a superstar on their team in the form of Leonard. Through 22 games this season, he's averaging 26.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Leonard has also been shooting the ball the from the 3-point-line the best he has since his injury. He is shooting just over 38 percent from the three, which is his best percentage since his All-Star season back during the 2015/16 season where he shot over 44 percent from the three.

If the Raptors can stay healthy when it comes to playoffs time, then they should undoubtedly at least make the Eastern Conference Finals. But don't be surprised if the team who got bounced early from the playoffs last season, makes the NBA Finals this season.

What This Means

The Raptors proved to everyone around the NBA that they're a championship caliber team. It helped even more for the Raptors that their game was televised on ESPN. This means that they received national wide attention after their blowout win against the Warriors.

Which has the rest of the league now buying into what the Raptors are selling. When they're healthy, the Raptors have one of, if not the best rosters in the East. Which is why if they stay healthy, they have an outstanding chance at beating the Warriors in the NBA Finals.
