SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan has pulled off one of the most impressive comebacks in WWE history, working extensively to get cleared by doctors so he could return to the ring.

Bryan had to retire in 2016 following a series of concussions and other brain-related injuries, bought he sought opinions from different doctors across the United States and was finally cleared to wrestle again.

He will team up with SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, where they'll face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. And with Bryan cleared, the WWE gets one of its biggest superstars of all-time back in the ring, and Triple H knows the importance of having the former World Champion returning to action.

That's because in a recent interview with Andrew Feldman of ESPN.com, Triple H admitted that there was fear in the WWE that Bryan would leave for another promotion, if they wouldn't clear him to compete again.

"Part of me was so afraid in the period of time when it [was] all going down that he was going to walk and say 'forget it' and go wrestle for someone else that doesn't care, that doesn't take their health into consideration -- because that's pretty much everywhere else.

And risk his life and his health and his family and his baby and risk all of it -- and it's not worth that. We take enough risk every day in what we do...Luckily we never got there, and luckily things worked out...Looking back on it, he was already prepping. He was prepping everything about it."

There were rumors for a while that Bryan would leave the WWE for another promotion (such as Ring of Honor), when his contract expired. WWE appeared firm on keeping him retired, but some massive developments got company Dr. Joseph Maroon to clear Bryan.

The main question at this point is how often Bryan will wrestle, but much of it could depend on if he can stay healthy. There obviously are risks involved in coming back from a series of brain injuries, but Bryan simply has the drive and passion for wrestling, and nothing will stop him.

It's been three years since fans got to watch the beloved Daniel Bryan compete in a ring, but the improbable comeback will begin at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. And without a doubt, it'll be one of the most memorable and magical WrestleMania moments in history.
