The pectoral injury Triple H suffered at WWE Crown Jewel likely means his potential WrestleMania match with Batista is now a no-go.

If you tuned in to WWE Crown Jewel and watched the main event, chances are you still haven't gotten over it. Normally, that would mean you still can't believe how good it was. Not in this case. Even the four men involved must have had to admit on some level since Friday that it was a pretty awful match.

Not to make excuses, but what happened to Triple H can't be ignored. It was evident The Game was hurt which is why he missed a large chunk of the match. We discovered after that match that The Game had in fact torn his pectoral muscle. Painful stuff, and extremely impressive that he managed to continue wrestling at all.

Triple H is going to need surgery to repair his torn pec, and that may alter WWE's WrestleMania 35 plans quite a bit. Judging by what went down at SmackDown 1000, it was highly likely we would see The Cerebral Assassin take on Batista. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, that is no longer possible. "He’s out of WrestleMania which means the Batista/ Triple H match which was the main event of that show — you gotta change your plans," said WOR host Dave Meltzer.

Apparently, the shortest possible recovery time for a torn pec is five months. That's exactly how long is left until WrestleMania 35. If Triple H were to defy the odds, which he often does when it comes to injuries, it would still leave no time for him to prepare or build to the match. Hopefully, Batista will still return for a match in 2019, but if it's going to be at WrestleMania, it won't be opposite The Game.

Some of the ideas Vince McMahon had penciled in for WrestleMania 35 will have been erased over the last few weeks. It's also highly unlikely Roman Reigns will be back in time for the show either. Very unfortunate as The Big Dog could have become the first man in WWE history to headline five WrestleManias in a row. The biggest show of the year without Triple H and Reigns will be very different from what Mr. McMahon initially envisioned.
