2020 was the first full calendar year in which Triple H didn't wrestle a single match since he signed with WWE in 1995.

2020 is in the books and it will go down in WWE history for a number of reasons. The return of Edge, a two-night WrestleMania, and the retirement of The Undertaker. It might have been an unconventional year for pretty much everyone, but that doesn't mean it was an unsuccessful one. Drew McIntyre would almost definitely label it the best year of his career to date. Plus, we finally got the Roman Reigns heel turn we always wanted.

While there were a few appearances and matches from older/part-time stars, it didn't feel like as many as usual. The Undertaker only wrestled once, Goldberg managed to squeeze in a match before the pandemic, and Brock Lesnar has been nowhere to be seen since WrestleMania.

There was one part-time star who didn't wrestle at all in 2020. That part-time star was Triple H. The last time The Game competed in a match was during WWE's tour of Japan in June of 2019. Triple H wrestled two matches on that tour, as well as a match against Randy Orton at Super ShowDown earlier that month. Not wrestling in 2020 has actually registered a career first for Triple H, and it might not be a wanted one.

It was the first full calendar year in which Triple H hasn't wrestled a single match in WWE. The Game signed with the company all the way back in 1995 and has wrestled at least one match per year ever since. In fact, during one of those years, 2015, he actually did wrestle only one match. His WrestleMania showdown with Sting in 2015.

Triple H's record actually extends back further than his WWE run, having wrestled matches in WCW in 1994. The 14-time World Champion turns 52 in 2021, which probably means that one of his next matches will be his last. As involved as he is backstage, we wouldn't be surprised if Triple H retired quietly. He may have even done so already. Chances are we've not seen The Cerebral Assassin's last match just yet, though.
