We're almost at the 11-month mark of the "Wednesday Night Wars" between WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite, and so far, it's been a one-sided affair.

In August of last year, WWE announced their plans to move NXT over to Wednesday night on the USA Network. This was clearly a ploy to start direct head-to-head competition with AEW.

The Wednesday Night Wars have also been fueled by the AEW signings of, Brodie Lee, Matt Hardy, FTR and Matt Cardona - all former WWE stars who joined the company following the beginning of the ratings battle.

Clearly, NXT has a long way to go in catching Dynamite. But don't think for an instant that Triple H is sweating the fact that it's been a lopsided affair in AEW's favor thus far.

During an interview on The Bill Simmons Podcast (h/t WrestlingInc.com), Triple H acknowledged that "competition is good." Citing WWE's ability to adapt and reinvent, he's also confident in the company's battle against AEW.

"Competition is good. It keeps things fresh and going strong. I'm not going to belittle anybody's anything, but when you look back at the track record of a company that can shift, pivot and move. It might take time, it doesn't happen on a Thursday if you know what I'm saying. It takes time and effort as there's a lot of pieces to move, but you're looking at a company that has recreated itself over and over again and stayed relevant to the next wave coming in. The strength of this company is being able to withstand the ebbs and flows of the business."

"People talk about hard work. I've never seen anyone outwork Vince McMahon. God bless him, he's worn out a lot of people, trust me. It's what we do and I put my money on this. People ask me all the time if I ever contemplated leaving during the Monday Night War and I always told them, 'I've been there and I've been here.' Once I saw and met Vince and his passion for his company, there's just no way I would have ever left. The way he can pick up, shift and pivot and do whatever it takes, it's really awe-inspiring."

Earlier this month, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that "there is a lot of unhappiness" in WWE over their constant losses in the Wednesday Night Wars. WWE has even brought on more writers to try and fix the problem.

But as Triple H pointed out, WWE has constantly found ways to adapt and improve its product. The company outlasted WCW in the Monday Night Wars, and TNA never got close to creating competition with WWE. AEW has the upper hand right now, but over the next year or two, NXT could easily close the gap.

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

Again, we're only about to hit the 11-month mark of WWE NXT vs. AEW Dynamite. There is a long way to go here, and as long as Triple H is in charge, it'd be silly to rule out NXT's chances of catching up. Triple H and company surely knew that the first year was going to be a serious challenge, but they have all the time in the world to make the necessary adjustments to further compete with AEW.
