Triple H has shared his thoughts on WWE appointing Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as the executive directors of their two main brands.
The company announced having hired the pair as executive directors of Raw and SmackDown, respectively, earlier this week but it took Hunter a while to acknowledge it publicly. Of course, that's probably because he was busy with a tour of Singapore and Japan.
There have been claims of the timing of the announcement being calculated - dropping while Triple H is out of the country - and who knows?
However, The Game broke his silence with a tweet on Friday, welcoming Heyman and Bischoff back.
Triple H's relationship with his father-in-law Vince McMahon is not at it's best these days, per reports, so the recent appointments did stir the mind. It does appear that The Game's on board, however.
Bischoff and Hunter worked together briefly when the former was running WCW. Wrestling under the name Terra Rizin, the former DX star would move to WWE in 1995.
“When Hunter came in it was at a time in WCW when we were really cutting costs. Expenses were a really big issue," Bischoff explained during a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast (h/t Sescoops).
"I think it was Terry Taylor who first introduced Hunter to us. My biggest concern with him was that he lived in the Northeast. At that point, things were so tight financially that we were looking to concentrate on the talent that lived in Atlanta, Georgia because we couldn’t afford to fly people all over the country, so that was one big issue.”
Triple H seems to be on board for now, but if he was going to say anything, it was always going to be positive. Maybe he'll like a negative tweet from a fan later on but, till then, we'll have to assume all is well.
