Regardless of any rumors, Triple H has informed the media, yet again, that Velveteen Dream is still employed by the WWE, and he's still a part of the NXT roster.

While Dream hasn’t appeared on television since his match against Adam Cole on the December 23rd edition of NXT, he's not been released, let go or dropped by the company. There has been some speculation Dream might be in hot water with WWE after a few instances of inappropriate behavior in 2020 and some questionable phone pics, but  despite the fact he's only worked five matches since September, he's still a part of the talent roster.

There has been very little talk about Dream in recent weeks and no clues about when he might return to programming for the company. Still, Triple H dismissed any speculation  during today’s conference call with the media to promote Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day special. Triple H said Dream is still with the company and still training at the PC. He added that he'd gone over this with the media a million times.

Velveteen Dream WWE

At one time, Dream was considered one of the fastest-rising stars in WWE. The sky was the limit for him and there was talk that he might face John Cena at a WrestleMania in the future. It wasn't long after that Dream started making the news for all the wrong reasons.

Where Does Hit Fit In WWE Today?

While Triple H confirmed Dream is still part of the company, where he stands with the higher-ups is unclear. Perhaps this is as simple as NXT not having a storyline for him. Or, it could be that the company has decided to hold back on any push for a while, let things cool down and find the right way to work him back into the fold.

Needless to say, there are a lot of people on both sides of the Velveteen Dream debate. Some fans want him gone, while others think he could be a massive star.
