Trish Stratus will return to WWE for Evolution in October 2018 to go one-on-one with Raw Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss.

The landscape of women's wrestling in WWE is almost unrecognizable from what it looked like ten or even five years ago. The females of today have competed inside Hell In A Cell, battled it out for Money In The Bank contracts, and even had their own Royal Rumble match. All of that was an unattainable dream for the women that preceded them.

Nevertheless, some of those women paved the way for today's female roster. The likes of Lita, Beth Phoenix, and Michelle McCool. Those three and others got the chance to return and reap some of the rewards during the first ever all-female Royal Rumble, and some of them will undoubtedly return once again when WWE stages the biggest women's milestone of them all, the female only PPV Evolution.

In fact, we now know for definite that one legend from the past will be returning. On Saturday, WWE announced via its website that Trish Stratus will compete at Evolution in a one-on-one match with Raw Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss. Stratus was the 30th entry in the women's Royal Rumble earlier this year, but it will be the Hall Of Famer's first singles match in seven and a half years.

What fans want to know now is what we can expect from this match. There's even the possibility that The Goddess's title could be on the line come October 28, 2018. That hinges on SummerSlam, of course. Bliss's title is up for grabs versus Ronda Rousey in the Barclays Center tonight. Perhaps we could even see Stratus at ringside or get involved in the outcome somehow now that her comeback is common knowledge.

Judging by her performance during the Royal Rumble match, what we already know is that Stratus can still go and will almost definitely give Bliss a terrific match. The announcement of her return is also likely going to be the first of many. It seemed as if many of the returning women at Royal Rumble really enjoyed being back and will want to play a part in what will be one of the most historic nights in WWE history.
