The WWE used a moment on Tuesday to confirm the return of one of the greatest female WWE Superstars in history. Yes, Trish Stratus will be back for Raw 25 and fans can expect a former WWE great who looks better than ever.

The likelihood is that this appearance may last up until the Royal Rumble (she's rumored to appear) and no more, but what if the Rumble wasn't the last we saw of the woman who brought the WWE Universe a healthy dose of "Stratusfaction"?

Anyone who has seen Stratus of late knows she's looking better than ever and by the physical shape she's in, could easily add a couple more years to her resume as a WWE Superstar. During her time in the WWE, she cemented herself as an in-ring talent that could go with any of the female WWE Superstars on the roster. Adding her name to today's crop of female competitors would be more than just something the fans would love to see, it could be exactly what the WWE needs for its Women's Revolution.

Trish Stratus started her career as a "Diva". During a time when looks and sex appeal were far more important than talent, Trish was able to offer WWE what it wanted to sell. She was one of the company's most attractive talents and willing to do almost any angle asked of her. She offered some of Raw and SmackDown's most memorable moments, and while it was for many of the wrong reasons, it still made her a household name. That didn't stop her from carving out a path of her own.

In the midst of infidelity angles with Vince McMahon and wrestling in her bra and panties, Stratus offered some fantastic wrestling matches with the likes of Lita, Victoria and others who were known to be able to go in the ring. Pretty soon, people sat the titillating stories to the side and let Stratus do her talking as a wrestler. She spoke loudly and she spoke to the point she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

It is this kind of skill that the WWE is currently focusing on. Starring names like Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch and others, the new Women's Revolution is meant to showcase females who aren't just attractive, but talented technicians. Again, Stratus fits the bill.

Sure, Stratus has outside projects, including a family of her own, but WWE has become a company that welcomes part-time talent who can make a difference to the product. Stratus might see a benefit in not only lacing up her boots and proving she can hang with today's talent, but the side benefit is more promotion for her business ventures in an environment that might give more time than a quick appearance on an anniversary show or being just one of 30 entrants in a battle royal.

So too, the WWE could use her. A roster of women who can wrestle, there aren't many names that bring star power to the roster. Stratus has the ability to attract viewers, give credibility at a time that credibility is the flavor of the day and she doesn't sacrifice quality to do so. She could offer mentorship to a crop of women learning as they go and she's already part of the teaching culture that has been present in WWE with shows like Tough Enough.

The reality is, Trish Stratus rejoining the WWE on a regular to semi-regular basis is a pipe dream. But, that doesn't make it any less appealing an idea. With names like Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg and others all making their way back to the WWE in some capacity, stranger things have happened.

The WWE is just in the initial stages of the most traditionally surprising time in WWE. The Royal Rumble is historically about shocking moments that lead into WrestleMania. What would be more shocking than Stratus entering the Royal Rumble and winning the whole thing? If she went on to main event WrestleMania, it has the makings of a huge swing in the women's division but one that could be beneficial for everyone.
