The Undertaker Will Return To WWE TV Next Week

WWE has confirmed that The Undertaker will make an appearance on SmackDown Live next week at Madison Square Garden.

Next week is going to be a big one for WWE. It has gone under the radar somewhat, buried beneath the news surrounding AEW All Out and NXT's move to the USA Network. On Monday and Tuesday next week, Raw and SmackDown Live will emanate from Madison Square Garden. The first time a weekly WWE TV show has been staged there for a decade.

The Raw that will be taking place is already looking pretty stacked. It has been known for a while that Stone Cold will be in attendance. However, his role on the show has now been confirmed. Austin will act as the moderator during the contract signing between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman. So if Raw has Austin, who will SmackDown have 24 hours later?

That question was also answered on this week's Raw. SmackDown at MSG's special attraction will be The Undertaker. Fitting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, The Deadman will have competed at MSG numerous times, so it's always special to see him perform there. Secondly, Taker has a lot more history with the blue brand than he does with the red, so it makes sense to save him for Tuesday night.

Now we want to know what the veteran's role will be on the show. The last time we saw The Undertaker was at Extreme Rules back in July. On that show, Taker teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre. Since all three of those men are SmackDown Superstars, we're assuming one or more of them will be involved with whatever The Phenom does next Tuesday.

Personally, we're hoping The Undertaker's short-lived beef with McIntyre is revived. At one point it felt as if the two were on a collision course. The next thing we knew, McIntyre was losing to anyone and everyone on a weekly basis. The Scot should be a World Title contender, and nothing would establish that quite as well as him sending The Deadman away with his tail between his legs.
